Alfie continued his explanation, “They won’t zap, their electricity is static, so there’s only enough energy to fuel them as they search for more electrons to eat.”. One of the little balloons started swooping down closer to Noah, who stood frozen in place. “Watch out though,” Alfie called out with a grin that let Noah know he was enjoying this. “They particularly love to eat the electrons from your hair.”

Noah swished the little balloons away quickly, and as he did, he could hear crackling inside them just like the copper tree had. Then, he turned back toward the portal to step inside.
